Tolerance and Conflict
True tolerance is a virtue because it originates with God. Nobody is truly tolerant apart frtom God. But what does tolerane look like? Is it possible for tolerance to be impersonated? Is it possible for us to think we are being tolerant when we are not? This is what I'm sure of, given enough time every human relationship will require tolerance to maintain health!
So, again, what does it mean to be tolerant? Does it mean to allow things to be as they are? Or, does it mean to respect others beliefts or practices even though you don't share them? Maybe it means to put up with someone or something you don't like. Is it possible that tolerance could involve living within an acceptable variation from what I believe to be necessary for my own health? Here's the Good News, God's tolerance is on display for us to enjoy by faith and to practice with Love!
