The Second Angel and Reformation

What is the antithesis of a truth?  You may believe it is a lie.  I could make that case, the opposite of a truth is a lie, but that simple explanation seems to imply intent.  You either tell a lie or you tell the truth and that seems to suggest that one has awareness when they do either.  In fact in our legal system when one is giving testimony in court they are made to promise that they will tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth which means that we have the expectation they know how.  Do we know how to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?  I would suggest to you not always.

We can only really tell what we know and what we know is very limited!  The whole truth?  I don't know about you but I believe that is Jesus.  Jesus is the whole truth and nothing but truth.  We may know Jesus but we certainly don't know everything and therefore we don't know the whole Jesus.  If this is true, and I don't know how anyone could believe otherwise, than I believe that there may be something that Jesus is even more concerned about than lies.  Jesus may be more concerned about confusion!  We all suffer from confusion.  The entire human family is to some degree or another confused.  The good News, the everlasting or eternal Good News, is that Jesus is at work freeing us from confusion!

A second angel followed and said, "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries."  Revelation 14:8
